Biography:


Miss Mittelstaedt was born in Copley, Ohio and went to college at Concordia, Seward, Nebraska, graduating in 1977.  Her first call was to Immanuel Lutheran School in Wentzville, Missouri, where she taught Kindergarten, started the Preschool with a class of 4 year olds, and taught music to grades 1-8.  She began work on her Masters degree at Seward, too.  In 1984 she accepted a call to Grace, Arlington, Texas, where she taught mainly 3rd grade.  Her dad died in 1994 and she wanted to get closer to home.  She took the call to teach 4th grade at Unity in 1995.  She taught 4th grade until LSUS began in 2009, when she taught 3rd grade.  Last year Miss Mittelstaedt moved to 5th grade but now is back teaching 4th grade. 

Interests:

Susan is a member at Mount Calvary where she sings in the choir, plays handbells, is a member of the Altar Guild, and on the Fellowship Team.  Her mom died in 2007 and she has one older sister, Linda, who now lives with her.  They have cats but won't say how many. Susan enjoys reading, doing yard work, gardening, watching the birds, music, and baseball. She is a big Cleveland Indians fan and also volunteers at HOPE for Animals clinic and help foster kittens.
