Biography:


Mrs. Sheila Nehrenz holds a B.A. in Education and she has her certification in Early Childhood Education and Guided Reading Instruction. She attended Concordia College in Ann Arbor, Michigan for her A.A. and then graduated with a B.A. degree and Lutheran Teacher Diploma from Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois. She continues to take classes at IPFW with over 28 credit hours of graduate course work in reading and writing instruction. 

Her 29 years of classroom experience includes a variety of instructional levels and administration as a Preschool Director and teacher, also Kindergarten, 3rd-6th grade Reading and Math, Jr. High Language Arts, 1st grade and presently serves as our 2nd grade classroom teacher. 

Mrs. Nehrenz is a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church where she serves on the Fellowship Team. She and her husband, Tom, have been married for 31 years and have four children. All her children have attended Lutheran preschools, Unity Lutheran grade school and Concordia Lutheran High School. “All of them received the best education possible and were able to get into the college of their choice to further their education. I also know that their faith has been enriched and that will be with them all of their lives”. 

Interests:

During her summers, Mrs. Nehrenz spends most of her time in northern Michigan visiting family and traveling. In her spare time she writes poetry and children’s stories. She believes that teaching children is both a privilege and a blessing. “Teaching is a daily gift that gets to be opened everyday…revealing the joys and delights of the learning process”.
