Mrs. Judith Sabel holds a B.S. in Education degree and Lutheran Teacher Diploma from Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska and a Master’s degree in Reading from Purdue University. Her experience includes 32 years of teaching in the primary grades, mostly in Lutheran schools, and 3 years in the Iowa public schools as a special education/first grade teacher.
Mrs. Sabel is a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Her husband, Tom, is pastor at St. Paul, Otis, IN and teaches writing at IPFW and St. Francis. Together they have two sons, Jon-Mark , a graduate from DePauw University, and Jacob, a recent recruit in the U.S. Army.
Judith enjoys writing and directing dramas. In her spare time she likes to travel extensively with her family. Her recent travels include visiting schools in the United Kingdom, attending a writing institute at Columbia University in New York City. She will visit schools in the East Caribbean this summer. Judith has recently become passionate about writing education and a great emphasis is her writing workshop in her classroom.
